Abstract:
There are provided a slide valve device (32) for controlling an outgoing amount of molten metal flowing out from a molten metal vessel (30), a holding cylinder (42) supported in a vertical attitude at the lower portion of the slide valve device, and a guide arm (44) supported in a horizontal attitude by a piston rod (43) of the cylinder. The guide arm (44) has a pair of guide rails (45, 45) in parallel to each other, of which opposite surfaces include guide grooves (46, 46) extending horizontally and having a length capable of receiving and holding nozzle casings (48) at upper ends of at least three immersion nozzles (47, 47), ..., said guide grooves being opened at opposite ends thereof. There is provided a replacing cylinder (56) for pushing new immersion nozzles, fitted into and held by the guide grooves, to nozzle mounting positions.
