Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding device and an image formation apparatus in which a further malfunction hardly occurs in a case where one binding device body stops in a movement path due to an abnormality or the like even when the image formation apparatus has such a configuration that a portion of a locus of one binding device body moving in the movement path from one end side in the width direction with respect to a sheet bundle is overlapped with a portion of the locus of the other binding device moving in the movement path from the other end side in the width direction.SOLUTION: At least one of first driving means 110-114 driving a first binding device body 91 (first binding means) and second driving means 120-124 driving a second binding device body 92 (second binding means) is provided with torque limiters 111, 121 (drive cutoff means) for cutting off the drive when a resistance (load) exceeding a prescribed magnitude is generated at the time of driving.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
