Abstract:
A handheld biopsy device (1) is provided which includes an elongate base (3) having a slider (80) movable relative thereto between a stowed condition and at least one operative condition. An elongate blade (25) which is resiliently flexible in its length is secured between the base (3) and the slider (80) such that with the slider (80) in the stowed condition the blade (25) extends generally parallel to the base (3), and with the slider (80) in the at least one operative condition the blade (25) flexes away from the base (3) into a bowed shape.
