Abstract:
To provide a method by which the safety of patients and/or personnel can be improved during use of respective instruments.SOLUTION: A blade is held in a blade housing that can be transferred from a first locking position (static position) into a second locking position (actuated position) by a first operating element 34. In the static position, the blade housing is completely located inside the cartridge housing 24 and the blade is locked in the blade housing. In the actuated position, the blade housing projects out of the cartridge housing 24. Only in the actuated position, a locking between the blade housing and blade can be released, whereby a driving connection is established between a second operating element 45 and the blade. Tissue remnant that is retained while the blade retracts from the tissue is contained within the blade housing and sealed therein. Cleaning and re-use of an instrument 12 is therefore easier and safer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
