Title:
FLUX AUTOMATICALLY ADDING METHOD IN ELECTROSLAG WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3135780
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make unmonitored welding possible by detecting voltage change when slag pool depth is turned to shallower than suitable range and intermittently/automatically adding flux until the slag pool depth returns the suitable range.
CONSTITUTION: When a slag pool depth is turned to shallower than suitable range and a flux is to be added, a voltage waveform for detecting is continuously turned to over the detecting threshold value, a detecting timer T1 23 continuously detects slag pool depth depleting condition, executing time limit completion. By closing these time limiting contacts 21, 24, 28, an adding timer T2 25 starts timing. While the adding timer T2. 25 starts timing and completes time limit, an adding motor 31 is started by closing a time limit contact 28, flux is added, a rotating speed of the adding motor 31 is controlled by a motor controller MCR 30.
