To provide a brush and a method of making it which can prevent the tearing of bristles and the slippage of roots of the bristles by making the bristles tough along with an excellent resistance to heat.

A plate brush 1 with the bristles 2 planted on it includes at least one carbon fiber bundle 4 with a plurality of carbon fibers bundled in the bristle 2, a nylon resin 5 with at least each one of carbon fibers making up the carbon fiber bundle 4 bonded together, a copper plate film 6 covering the carbon fiber bundle 4 and a nickel plate film 7 covering the carbon fiber bundle 4. The plate brush 1 undergoes the process of twisting the carbon fiber bundle as a whole, the process of winding the carbon fiber bundle via the twisting process with a nylon yarn, the process of sandwiching the nylon yarn between the plurality of carbon fiber bundles 4 via the winding process and conducting a heat treatment, the process of copper plating on the carbon fiber bundle 4 via the heat treatment process, the process of nickel plating on the carbon fiber bundle 4 via the copper plating process and the process of planting the carbon fiber bundle 4 obtained via the nickel plating process.
