Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing, in a state ensuring high strength, a cover responsible for the protection and noise insulation of a crank pulley, auxiliary drive belt, etc., in a longitudinal engine in which a crankshaft is disposed facing toward the front of the vehicle body. This cover 30 includes a sound absorbing body 33 made of a material such as hard urethane, and a hard reinforcing body 34 in which the sound absorbing body is insert-molded, the cover being formed in a tray shape as a whole. Fastening parts 35-38 fixed to the engine by bolts are provided to outer ends of the reinforcing body 34. Since the pressing force from the bolts does not directly affect the sound absorbing body 33, high fastening strength can be achieved while ensuring a high protection function and sound insulation function.
