Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanohorn aggregate capable of manufacturing, efficiently on an industrial basis in a high purity at a low cost while abating environmental loads, a carbon nanohorn aggregate predicted to yield high values as electrode materials of various batteries; a method for manufacturing the same; and an electrode material using the same.SOLUTION: The provided method for manufacturing a carbon nanohorn aggregate includes either a step of evaporating, by using carbon as a target, the target on the basis of laser ablation in the presence of nitrogen while the target is being rotated or a step of evaporating, by using boron-containing carbon as a target, the target on the basis of laser ablation in the presence of a rare gas or nitrogen while the target is being rotated.
