Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an adhesive containing a specific unsaturated thirane compound, having excellent adhesiveness to metals, especially novel metals, excellent in storage stability and long-term durability and useful, especially in dental field without requiring troublesome treatment.
CONSTITUTION: This adhesive contains an unsaturated thirane compound of formula I [R1 is H2C=C(R5) (R5 is H or methyl) or formula II; R2 is a 1-40C organic group; R3 and R4 are each H, a 1-40C organic group, thirane or a halogen; X is COO, CONH, etc.; (n) and (m) are each 0 or 1], having an unsaturated thirane group bonded to a saturated carbon and having an olefinic double bond. A thirane group-containing (meth)acrylate compound of formula III [(a) is 1-41; R is H or methyl) or a thirane group-containing vinyl benzoate of formula IV [(b) is 1-41] is cited as the preferred example of the compound.
