Abstract:
The present invention provides a card reader having a roller composed of two parts with different combinations of rigidity, which maintains the fixed state of the two parts of the roller and realizesstable transportation of a card. The card reader (1) comprises a roller (5a) for conveying a card (2). The roller (5a) includes a cylindrical outer peripheral member (20), and a support member (30) having an outer peripheral surface (40) fixedly connected to an inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral member (20) and having a higher rigidity to support the outer peripheral member (20) through the outer peripheral surface (40) than the outer peripheral member (20). The outer peripheral surface (40) of the support member (30) includes a large diameter portion (40LD) (parallel portion 41,tapered portion 42, and tapered portion 43) having an outer diameter larger than the outer diameter of the two end portions (40R, 40L) between the two end portions (40R, 40L) in the axial direction (Z) of the roller (5a) on the outer peripheral surface (40).
