Abstract:
To provide a card reader capable of stabilizing a movement of a card that is inserted from a card insertion slot and moved in a thickness direction of the card, even if provided with two magnetic heads facing each other in the thickness direction of the card that is inserted from the card insertion slot and moves along a card movement path.SOLUTION: The card reader is provided with a magnetic head 6, a magnetic head 7 arranged to face the magnetic head 6, a biasing mechanism 8 for biasing the magnetic head 6 toward the magnetic head 7, and a biasing mechanism 9 that biases the magnetic head 7 toward the magnetic head 6. A magnetic gap 6a of the magnetic head 6 is located closer to the card insertion slot side than a magnetic gap 7a of the magnetic head 7 in the moving direction of a card 2 moving along a card moving path 4. Moreover, the biasing force of the magnetic head 6 by the biasing mechanism 8 is larger than the biasing force of the magnetic head 7 by the biasing mechanism 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
