Abstract:
To provide a card reader which includes an encoder unit for measuring a card conveyance distance and which permits easy roller replacement operation of the encoder unit rotating in contact with a card conveyed on a card conveyance path.SOLUTION: In a card reader 1, a unit frame 54 of an encoder unit 14 which measures a card conveyance distance is slidable in a Y direction with respect to a main frame 5 in a state of being held by the main frame 5 of the card reader 1. When sliding the unit frame 54 toward a Y1 direction with respect to the main frame 5, the engagement state between an engagement hole 54a and a regulating convex part for positioning the unit frame 54 with respect to the main frame 5 in a direction orthogonal to the Y direction is released, and the unit frame 54 in a state of being held by the main frame 5 becomes movable with respect to the main frame 5 in a direction in which a roller 50 of the encoder unit 14 separates from a card conveyance path 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
