Abstract:
To provide a card reader which can reduce an amount of external light incident on a light receiving element and which has an optical sensor having a light emitting element and the light receiving element facing each other across a card conveyance path for detecting a card conveyed by the card conveyance path.SOLUTION: A card reader according to the present invention has an optical sensor having a light emitting device and a light receiving device 7 disposed so as to face across a card conveyance path in a direction of a thickness of a card conveyed in the card conveyance path, and a circuit board 9 on which the light receiving element 7 is mounted. The light receiving device 7 is provided on one surface of the circuit board 9 facing toward the card conveyance path. A silk printing part 11 is formed by silk printing on the other surface of the circuit board 9. The silk printing part 11 is at least overlapped by the light receiving device 7 in the direction of the thickness of the circuit board 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
