Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas-purifying catalyst support made of a silica-dispersed alumina capable of exhibiting an excellent catalyst purifying effect by suppressing the reduction in diameter of a pore while increasing the pore volume by increasing the Si content.SOLUTION: There is provided an exhaust gas-purifying catalyst support comprising a silica-dispersed alumina in which silica particles are dispersed in alumina particles, wherein the silica-dispersed alumina has an Si content represented by 100×Si/(Si+Al) of 1.0 to 10.0 mol% and an average pore diameter of 4.0 nm or more, and when the Si content is defined as S (mol%) and the average pore diameter is defined as MD (nm), the value of S×(MD/2)is larger than 325 and the area occupation rate of the Si particles is observed to be 70% or more by an electronic microscope.
