PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier excellent in heat resistance and a catalyst.SOLUTION: A catalyst carrier includes a plurality of aluminum foils 1 arranged so as to face each other, of which the adjacent two foils contact each other at a plurality of first positions P1 and are separated from each other at second positions P2 between the first positions P1, coating layers 2 that contain lithium, silicon, and aluminum and coat at least part of the two faces facing each other of the plurality of the aluminum foils 1 at a position contacting the interface of the two faces, and oxide films 3 located between each of the plurality of the aluminum foils 1 and the coating layers 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
