Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform caulking for properly pressing a ball seat by suppressing the spring-back of a caulking part.SOLUTION: In a ball joint 1b having a ball stud 10 in which a ball part 10b is integrally connected to the other end of a stud part 10s, a metal housing 11 which has a space whose one side for supporting the ball part 10b of the ball stud 10 so as to be oscillatory and turnable is opened, and a ball seat 12 interposed between the housing 11 and the ball part 10b, a caulking method caulks the ball seat 12 by a caulking part 11k3 at an opening periphery edge of the housing 11. The caulking method bends an opening peripheral edge portion of the housing 11, presses the opening peripheral edge portion toward a bent portion from a bent tip side, and deforms at least a part of the opening peripheral edge portion to a mass portion that becomes the caulking part 11k3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
