Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately carry out centering for a workpiece shaft and a grindstone surface when gear processing is carried out by a simple method.SOLUTION: A center shifting amount detection workpiece made of a roughly disk-shaped or rectangular material to be ground including a reference plane parallel to an X axis which is the cutting-in direction of the grindstone of a grinder is prepared, the center shifting amount detection workpiece is attached to a workpiece shaft with the reference plane kept parallel to the X axis, a grinding wheel base is moved on the X axis while the grindstone is rotated to form a first groove parallel to the X axis of the center shifting amount detection workpiece by the grindstone, in the state of rotating the center shifting amount detection workpiece by 180 degrees by rotating a workpiece spindle, the grinding wheel base is moved on the X axis while the grindstone is rotated to form a second groove parallel to the X axis of the center shifting amount detection workpiece by the grindstone, a center shifting amount e represented by e=(L1-L2)/2 is obtained where L1 and L2 are distances to the center lines of the first and second grooves parallel to the X axis from the reference plane, and grindstone dressing is carried out in consideration of the center shifting amount e.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
