Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake mechanism in which an abutment member comes in contact with a floor to bring the brake into a worked state when releasing the brake by operating a brake lever and getting hand off the brake lever, and also provide a chair with the brake mechanism.SOLUTION: A brake mechanism includes a brake arm shaft 84 including a pressed shaft 86 where a pressing piece 85 connected to a brake lever 9 comes in abutment and a support piece 87, a spring 83 for biasing the support piece 87, a pair of brake arms 89 connected to both ends of the brake arm shaft 84, and an abutment member 82 provided at the end, etc. In the non-operation of the brake lever 9, the spring 83 biases the support piece 87 downward, and thereby the abutment member 82 is pressed on the floor and brake is applied. Also, the brake lever 9 is operated in the direction where the spring 83 compresses the support piece 87 to rotate the brake arm shaft 84, and thereby the abutment member 82 is separated from the floor and the brake is released.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
