PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select a desired character from a plurality of characters.SOLUTION: A portable phone comprises: position detection means for detecting a position specified in an area displaying a plurality of numbers; number selection means for selecting one number from the plurality of numbers according to the detected position; display means for displaying the selected number and related characters classified into the same group as the selected number by arranging the related characters around the selected number; direction detection means for detecting a movement direction of the position detected by the position detection means; and related character selection means which can select a related character on the basis of the movement direction detected by the direction detection means.
