Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input a character which assists a character of a related character key which is displayed when a virtual keyboard is contacted.SOLUTION: A character input device comprises a display part and a detection part for detecting contact. A virtual keyboard 50 is displayed on the display part, and if contact to the virtual keyboard is detected, a related character key 54 related to a character key 52A for input of the character of the virtual keyboard corresponding to a contact position, is overlapped to the virtual keyboard. In addition, at least one assist key 56 for changing notation of the character or related character, or adding a symbol to the character or related character, is overlapped to the virtual keyboard for displaying it. When release of contact is detected, when the key which is contact immediately before the release is any one of the character key and related character key, a character corresponding to one key is input. If the key contacted immediately before release is the assist key, notation of the character corresponding to the character key and related character key is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
