To provide a material for an electroluminescent device with which a buffer layer is formed without using water as its solvent, unlike a conventional polymeric material used for the buffer layer; and to provide an electroluminecsent device using the same.
As shown in Fig. 1(A), the electroluminescent device includes a first electrode 101, a buffer layer 102, an electroluminescent film 103, and a second electrode. A material for forming the buffer layer 102 disposed on the first electrode 101 includes a polymer compound having a conjugate in the main chain or in a side chain as a polymeric material soluble in an organic solvent, and a conductive material soluble in an organic solvent containing a compound having donor property against the polymeric material above.
