Abstract:
To provide a molding material of a cyclic olefin-based resin capable of giving a molded body having a small change in refractive index even under a high temperature environment.SOLUTION: There is provided a molding material containing a cyclic olefin-based resin (i) having a dispersion degree of 2.3 to 10.0 as measured by gel permeation chromatography and (ii) having a glass transition temperature of 120°C or more as measured by a differential scanning calorimeter. The cyclic olefin-based resin preferably is a random copolymer obtained by copolymerization of an α-olefin having 2 to 20 carbon atoms and a cyclic olefin represented by the general formula (I) or (II). In particular, the cyclic olefin-based resin preferably is a copolymer of ethylene and norbornene having a weight-average molecular weight of 20000 to 1200000.SELECTED DRAWING: None
