Abstract:

To provide a chopped fiber bundle mat exhibiting excellent processability (specially resin impregnating ability) in the case of fiber-reinforced resin molding material and exhibiting excellent mechanical characteristics (specially strength) in the case of fiber-reinforced plastic.SOLUTION: The chopped fiber bundle mat comprises chopped fiber bundles having number average fiber length of 3-100 mm oriented substantially at random. Bulkiness Bm calculated by a following formula (1) using fiber mass Fm (fiber basis weight) per unit area and mat thickness Tm of the chopped fiber bundle mat falls within a range of 1.5-5 cm/g.
