Title:
OIL OBSERVATION DEVICE OF ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3143689
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To avoid an oil gauge from interference with a crankshaft without remodelling an engine body by making the lower part of an oil gauge projecting into a crank case abut against a boss part near the front part corner in the case.
CONSTITUTION: The upper end 22b of a gauge guide 22 is directed obliquely upward forward between an alternator provided near one front side of a cylinder head 1 of an engine E and a muffler 6 provided on one side laterally above the cylinder head 1, while the halfway part 22c of the gauge guide is bent and disposed. The halfway bent part 22c of the gauge guide 22 is formed to be offset from the vertical axis of an incorporating hole 23 of a crank case 3 near the rear of the engine E as viewed from the side of the engine E. Thus, the lower part 21a of an oil gauge 21 projecting into the crank case 3 is adapted to abut against a boss part 26 of a lubricating oil path 25 formed near the inner front part corner of the crank case 3.
