Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil unit which can detect abnormality instantly before occurrence of temperature rise, when a foreign matter such as a metal is mixed between a power supply coil and a power receiving coil, and to provide a wireless power feeder in which transmission power loss can be avoided using the coil unit.SOLUTION: A coil unit L1 includes a detection coil 3 provided in the vicinity of a power supply coil 2, and the coil area of the detection coil has an inside area located on the inside of the winding of the power supply coil, and an outside area located on the outside thereof. In the wireless power feeder, a phase comparator compares signals input to a first input terminal and a second input terminal, and detects a phase difference, a determination unit determines whether or not a foreign matter is mixed based on the phase difference detected by the phase comparator, and a primary power control unit reduces or stops power of a power amplifier for driving the power supply coil, when a determination is made that a foreign matter is mixed by the determination unit.
