PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure synchronization of data.SOLUTION: A communication system 9 comprises: a first conversion device 91 for converting data received from a first synchronous line into conversion data to transmit the data to an asynchronous line; and a second conversion device 92 for re-converting the conversion data transmitted through the asynchronous line to transmit the data to a second synchronous line. The first conversion device 91 includes: a code generation unit 93 for, on the basis of the conversion data belonging to a conversion data group, generating code data showing an error correction code; and a transmission control unit 94 for controlling transmission of the conversion data and the code data. The second conversion device 92 includes a restoration unit 95 for, when failure occurs in the conversion data, restoring the conversion data in which failure occurs on the basis of another conversion data belonging to the conversion data group and the code data. The transmission control unit 94 performs transmission so that at least any two of conversion data belonging to the same conversion data group and code data generated from the conversion data group are not successive with each other.
