Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a packet switch, improving the accuracy of time synchronization in the communication system.SOLUTION: A master device includes: a reference time unit which manages a reference time; a PTP processing unit which starts to generate a time synchronization packet using the reference time of the reference time unit, to transmit to a slave device at a preset periodic first time; and a switch unit which, from the start to the completion of the generation of the time synchronization packet, selects the PTP processing unit to transmit the time synchronization packet to the slave device, whereas from the completion of the generation of the time synchronization packet to a preset second time, selects a main signal processing unit to transmits a main signal packet. The slave device includes: a local time unit; a switch unit which receives the main signal packet and the time synchronization packet from the master device; a PTP processing unit which synchronizes the local time with the reference time on the basis of the local time when receiving the time synchronization packet and the reference time included in the received time synchronization packet; and a main signal processing unit which stores the received main signal packet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
