Abstract:
To provide a compact and portable mass spectrometer.SOLUTION: A mass spectrometer 100 includes an ion source 102, an ion trap 104, an ion detector 118, and a gas pressure control subsystem 120. During operation of the mass spectrometer 100, a gas pressure regulation subsystem 120 is configured to maintain a gas pressure between 100 mTorr and 100 Torr in at least two of the ion source 102, the ion trap 104, and the ion detector 118, and the ion detector 118 is configured to detect ions generated by the ion source 102 according to the mass to charge ratio of the ions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1E
