PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentration method and a concentration apparatus of a water-soluble organic substance, excellent in heat efficiency, and enabling an input heat quantity to be reduced, in addition to providing a high concentration component, by using membrane separation by a vapor permeation separation membrane.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a technology excellent in the heat efficiency by saving energy, since condensation heat of an impermeable component dehydrated by the vapor permeation separation membrane 6 is used as a heating medium for heating a raw material in addition to providing the water-soluble organic substance of the high concentration, since the raw material is dehydrated and concentrated by the vapor permeation separation membrane 6. The present invention can efficiently recover condensation heat of steam without boosting the steam by a compressor after dehydrating tower top vapor of a distillation tower 2 when applied to a hybrid process of combining distillation and membrane separation, and can prevent an increase in apparatus cost without requiring an anticorrosive expensive material as a component of the apparatus even when dehydrating a corrosive organic substance such as an acetic acid.
