Abstract:
A terminal used in a conventional receptacle connector for connecting substrates is provided with an embedded portion in which a terminal of the receptacle connector on a target side is inserted and having a mounting portion for being mounted on the substrate at a position away from the short side of the connector such that it is difficult to shorten the length of the terminal of the receptacle connector. Therefore, for the receptacle connector in which the terminals are symmetrically arranged on the short side of the connector, there is almost no room for narrowing the width of the short side, thereby impeding the miniaturization of the connector. A receptacle connector is provided and a mounting portion disposed at a position away from the embedded portion of the terminal is disposed on a surface at the substrate side of the embedded portion. Thereby, the length of the terminal is shortened and the width of the short side of the connecter is narrower.
