Abstract:
To provide a chain of a continuously variable transmission capable of self-traveling (ensuring a limp hole property) even if being broken.SOLUTION: A chain 40 is equipped with a main chain 41, a sub chain 42 that is formed to have a smaller diameter and smaller width than the main chain 41 and is arranged separated inside the main chain 41, and a plurality of coupling members 51 connecting the main chain 41 and the sub chain 42 so as to prevent the sub chain 42 from contacting with a primary pulley 21 and a secondary pulley 31 during the operation of the main chain 41. The coupling member 51 includes a fragile portion 51a breaking when the main chain 41 breaks. The sub chain 42 does not contact with the primary pulley 21 and the secondary pulley 31 during the operation of the main chain 41, but contact with the primary pulley 21 and the secondary pulley 31 to transmit driving force when the main chain 41 and the coupling members 51 break.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
