Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and an abnormality detection method for an air-fuel ratio sensor capable of accurately detecting an abnormality of short circuit between a pump cell and a detection cell of a gas sensor element.SOLUTION: A control device for an air-fuel ratio sensor in this embodiment includes an electric current supply section, a sweeping processing section and an abnormality detection section. The electric current supply section supplies an electric current for controlling a pump cell to the pump cell via a first terminal connected to the pump cell. The sweeping processing section performs sweeping processing for changing a voltage and electric current of a detection cell by applying a predetermined voltage or predetermined electric current to the detection cell via a second terminal connected to the detection cell. The abnormality detection section detects a short circuit state between the first terminal and the second terminal on the basis of fluctuation of the voltage or electric current of the first terminal generated through the sweeping processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
