Abstract:
To provide a controller for a hybrid vehicle, which avoids excessive decrease in engine speed and worsening of vibration caused by sudden deceleration in a direct coupling mode.SOLUTION: A sudden deceleration operation is detected in a state that a direct coupling mode is set (step S1). Then, when the sudden deceleration operation is detected, control is executed for releasing one engagement mechanism, out of a first engagement mechanism and a second engagement mechanism engaged in the direct coupling mode, that reduces torque shared by the engagement mechanism, according to inertia torque of a motor generated in accompany with the sudden deceleration operation (steps S3-S6), and thereby the direct coupling mode is switched to either a high mode or a low mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
