To provide a control device of a hybrid vehicle in which the consumption of a fuel which cannot be easily supplemented is suppressed by suppressing the driving of an engine for charging a battery when the fuel which cannot be easily supplemented is used.
Hydrogen is used as the fuel while a catalyst is not activated. After the catalyst is activated, the fuel is changed to a gasoline and hydrogen by operating a switch for the operation. When the hydrogen is used by operating the switch and the residual amount of hydrogen is less, the lean operating area is so increased or the degree of leanliness is increased as to suppress the consumption of the hydrogen. In this case, the insufficient amount of the drive torque of the vehicle is compensated for by supplying a power from a battery to a motor. The lower limit value of the charged amount as the threshold for starting the charging of the battery is set to 60% when the engine is operated with gasoline. When the engine is operated with hydrogen, it is set to 30% to suppress the consumption of the hydrogen by the driving of the engine for charging the battery during the operation with the hydrogen.
