Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle control device capable of suppressing deterioration of fuel consumption after the start of an engine, if it is determined that there is a margin for assist with regard to an engine start request during EV traveling.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle control device comprising a transverse engine, a motor/generator, a first clutch and a belt-type continuously variable transmission, includes: engine start control means for starting the transverse engine when an engine start request S1 is made from an EV mode; a strong electric battery; and post-start assist margin determination means S50 for determining the presence or the absence of the assist margin for torque-assisting the transverse engine by the motor/generator after the start of the engine, based on the status of the strong electric battery. If it is determined that there is a margin for assist when the engine start request is made during EV traveling, the engine start control means performs the up-shift, and makes the performance S60 of the engine start.
