Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently apply a white base to an input image, enhance the color reproducibility of the input image, and sufficiently utilize the color gamut and color development property of a color material.SOLUTION: A control device generates a multi-value pixel of an input image and a base when performing printing by applying the white base to the color input image, in a case of restricting a color material amount at the time of printing by setting both of the pixel values so that the total value of the pixel value of each color material color of the input image and the pixel value of the white color of the base becomes equal to or less than a color material amount restriction value, calculates the ratio of the area to which the color materials in one or more colors are applied on the basis of the pixel value of each color material color of the input image, sets the pixel value of the white color on the basis of the calculated ratio of the area, converts the multi-value pixel after restriction of the color material amount into the binary pixel array by using an area gradation method, identifies the pixel position where the color components of CMY exist, rearranges the pixel of the white color arranged at the pixel position where there is no color component at the pixel position where the pixel of the white color is not arranged and there is the color component, and outputs the rearrangement result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
