Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in frequency components belonging to a frequency range (specific frequency band) of sound that discomforts human's ears among frequency components constituting combustion noise as a result of change in the frequency of the combustion noise by jetting water into a combustion chamber in order to reduce the combustion noise.SOLUTION: When a resonance frequency in a combustion chamber just before the occurrence of main combustion belongs to a specific frequency band, a water jet quantity is reduced and a fuel injection pressure is reduced, thereby reducing combustion noise and, at the same time, reducing a ratio of frequency components belonging to the specific frequency band out of frequency components constituting the combustion noise.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
