Title:
CONTROLLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016217344
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing deterioration in combustion without spoiling a feeling of speed reduction at a torque reduction request during introduction of EGR.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises an EGR device, and can be configured to perform operation at a first air fuel ratio and operation at a second air fuel ratio leaner than the first air fuel ratio. When decreasing the amount of air flowing in a combustion chamber and also decreasing an EGR rate on receiving a predetermined torque reduction request to the internal combustion engine, a controller (ECU) allows the operation at the first air fuel ratio if an EGR rate right before the torque reduction request is sent is smaller than a first threshold (for example, 15%) or stratified charge combustion operation at the second air fuel ratio if equal to or larger than the first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
