Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of smoke in a cylinder in an initial stage of fuel injection, and to minimize a cooling loss in a later stage of the fuel injection.SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine comprises: a plurality of fuel injection valves; control chambers which are arranged at a plurality of the fuel injection valves, and connected to fuel passages communicating with injection holes of the fuel injection valves; decompression means for reducing the pressure of fuel in the control chambers to a level lower than the pressure of fuel in the fuel passages connected to the control chambers in a plurality of the fuel injection valves; and opening/closing control means for moving a needle in a direction in which the injection holes of the fuel injection valves are opened by operating the decompression means so that a first pressure difference is not smaller than a prescribed pressure difference. In a second injection valve, during the fuel injection by a first injection valve, and after the lapse of a prescribed period from a start of the fuel injection by the first injection valve, reference pressure is reduced by operating the decompression means corresponding to the second injection valve so that the first pressure difference after operation becomes a value which is smaller than the prescribed pressure difference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
