Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine which can control a temperature in a cylinder by easy calculation compared with feedback control.SOLUTION: An engine of a kindling auxiliary compression-ignition type makes a part of a burned gas remain in a cylinder as an internal EGR gas, injects fuel for kindling into a homogeneous mixture formed in the cylinder, and ignites it, and burns the homogeneous mixture by compression ignition as kindling. A control device comprises: an IN-side VTC and an EX-side VTC which can change an internal EGR rate and an effective compression ratio; target internal EGR rate set means which sets a solution of a quadratic equation for the internal EGR rate as a target internal EGR rate rEGR trg with an internal EGR temperature Tex, a suction gas temperature TA, a target kindling ignition time temperature Thidane trg of an in-cylinder temperature at an ignition time of a kindling air-fuel mixture, and a coefficient α as parameters; and control means which sets a target phase angle of the IN-side VTC and a target phase angle of the EX-side VTC on the basis of the target internal EGR rate rEGR trg.
