Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a spark ignition type engine capable of improving drop of high load torque in a velocity area in which scavenging efficiency due to a negative pressure wave generated by exhaust pulsation is relatively low.SOLUTION: A control device of a spark ignition type engine for retarding an ignition timing in a high load area of an engine is provided with a cooling mechanism 30 for cooling an engine body 1. An exhaust passage is constituted so that negative pressure waves generated by exhaust pulsation in an exhaust passage reach an exhaust port 7 during an overlapping period of suction and exhaust valves 8, 9 so as to scavenge residual gas in a cylinder 2. In the high load area, cooling ability of the cooling mechanism 30 is set higher in a velocity area in which scavenging efficiency is lower than that in the other velocity area, than that in the other velocity area.
