Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method of an internal combustion engine capable of avoiding the generation of preignition based on predictive detection beforehand even in such circumstances that the preignition is generated suddenly.SOLUTION: In a control device and a control method of an internal combustion engine, it is determined whether predetermined circumstances from temperature conditions such as a suction temperature of the engine are an immediate preignition generation conditions which transfer from normal combustion to preignition immediately or not (S1), in the case of 'YES', an effective compression ratio is lowered in a relatively small width and, even when the preignition temporarily is generated, a predictive detection period can be secured (S2, S3). Prediction of the preignition is detected in such a state (S4), in response to the detection, the effective compression ratio is lowered to such a level that the preignition can be avoided (S5) and the generation of preignition is avoided beforehand.
