Abstract:
To control energization to a solenoid so that fuel injection is not performed in energization for detecting a characteristic of the solenoid of a fuel injection valve.SOLUTION: Solenoids (58, 60) for opening/closing and driving a valve element (54) of a fuel injection valve (50) injecting a fuel into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine (11), and a detection portion (26) for directly detecting a situation of combustion in the cylinder of the internal combustion engine are disposed. To detect a characteristic of the solenoids, the solenoids are energized in a region in which the fuel injection valve does not inject a fuel, and an energization condition to the solenoids is changed on the basis of the situation of the combustion in the cylinder detected by the detection portion after the energization to the solenoids.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
