Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a control method for an ink jet printer capping a print head by a cap in a wet state and being capable of shifting the ink jet printer to a resting state without delay at the time of interruption of printing processing operation.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer 1 acquires an ink holding amount of ink held by a cap 31, and performs suction operation suctioning and exhausting the ink in the cap 31 when the holding amount exceeds a predetermined threshold value. When the printing processing operation is interrupted, the ink jet printer 1 performs flushing operation discharging the ink to the cap 31 from a print head 7 based on the holding amount before performing capping operation capping an ink nozzle surface 7a by the cap 31. The flushing operation can cause an inside of the cap 31 to be wet. Further, the ink holding amount of the cap 31 is large, discharge quantity of the ink in the flushing operation is suppressed, and the suction operation can be prevented from being performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
