Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine and an internal combustion engine control method capable of recirculating exhaust gas with fewer components and reducing NOx contained in the exhaust gas.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine according to the invention comprises: an exhaust outlet 25 discharging flue gas generated by burning combustion gas from a combustion chamber 22 to an outside; an exhaust valve 24 opening or closing the exhaust outlet 25; a scavenging port 27 communicating a scavenging chamber 23 with the combustion chamber 22 and opened or closed by a reciprocating piston 29; and a control unit 30 controlling the exhaust valve 24 to be opened or closed so that an internal pressure of the combustion chamber 22 is higher than an internal pressure of the scavenging chamber 23 when the scavenging port 27 starts to be opened, the exhaust valve 24 closing the exhaust outlet 25 after closing the scavenging port 27.
