PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera 1 capable of imaging motion pictures under a proper imaging condition.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an imaging part 21 for outputting an image of a subject; a moving picture imaging control part 31 which controls the imaging part 21 so that the imaging part repeatedly images under a plurality of predetermined imaging conditions at a predetermined frame rate, for imaging a plurality of moving pictures including a plurality of images that are imaged respectively under the predetermined imaging conditions; and an automatic selection part 37 which automatically selects a moving picture, among the plurality of moving pictures, in which each of the plurality of images has a value less than a saturation brightness value while difference in brightness values between the plurality of images is maximum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
