Abstract:
To provide a conveying and driving device that can appropriately control conveyance of various types of sheets with a simple configuration without providing a new sensor.SOLUTION: A conveying and driving device of the present invention comprises: a first motor; a second motor; a detection unit; and a control unit. The first motor drives a first conveyance roller that conveys a sheet. The second motor drives a second conveyance roller that is adjacent to the first conveyance roller and arranged on the downstream side in the conveyance direction of the first conveyance roller. The detection unit detects, for at least one of the first motor and second motor, a current value of a current flowing in the motor. The control unit controls the first and second motors to operate such that the conveyance speed of the first conveyance roller becomes faster than the conveyance speed of the second conveyance roller, and estimates the rigidity of the sheet to be conveyed on the basis of the current value detected by the detection unit in a state where the sheet is in contact with the first conveyance roller and second conveyance roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
