Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for cooling a drawn wire, which are used to inhibit a deterioration in ductility of a steel drawn wire subjected to dry wire drawing.SOLUTION: A drawn wire directly after a wire is subjected to dry wire drawing by a die 2 is passed through a cooling bath 4 filled with powdery dry ice. Thus, a rise in temperature of the drawn wire is suppressed, and the powdery dry ice is projected to a surface of the drawn wire. Consequently, a carbonized dry lubricant on the surface of the drawn wire is removed. A method and a device 3 for cooling the drawn wire as above are adopted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
