Abstract:
Cosmetic compsn. contains: (i) a first UV filter (I) of benzene-1,4-di(3-methylidene-10-campho-sulphonic acid) or salts; and (ii) a second UV filter (II) of benzotriazole silicone of formula (IIa) or (IIb): R = 1-10C alkyl, phenyl or trifluoro-3,3,3-propylene, at least 80% is Me; r = 0-50; s = 1-20; u = 1-6; t = 0-10, provided that t+u = 3 or more; and A = a monovalent radical gp. of formula (III): Y = 1-8C alkyl, halogen or 1-4C alkoxy, or 2 adjacent Y are 1-2C alkylenedioxy; X = O or NH; Z = H or 1-4C alkyl; n = 0-3; m = 0 or 1; and p = 1-10. Also claimed is cosmetic treatment for protecting the skin and/or hair from ultraviolet rays, partic. solar rays by applying the above compsn.
