Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crush box which can consistently deform in a vehicle collision.SOLUTION: A crush box 102 includes a first sidewall 210a that is coupled to a vehicle 100 and a second sidewall 210b that is coupled to the vehicle. The first sidewall and the second sidewall are similarly pre-bent portions that cause the first sidewall and the second sidewall to bend outward upon receipt of a force. The first sidewall and the second sidewall include a plurality of tabs 216a-216h that couple the first sidewall and the second sidewall to a top wall 212 that bends inward upon receipt of the force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
